
Mike James is an LTA Level 5 Master Performance Coach and Performance Coach Education tutor. As founder and director of Everyball Tennis, he has over 30 years experience in working in junior competitive tennis and has developed many top ranked players right through to grand slam level. He has also travelled extensively to recent events such as Tarbes and the Junior Billie Jean King and Davis Cup finals, giving him the highest possible awareness of current international standards. "Everyball" is Mike's inspirational tennis philosophy and he brings this to life in his intensive camps for junior competitive players which he leads personally alongside members of the Everyball Performance Coaching team including our S&C specialists. The Everyball values of Respect, Responsibility, Reflection and Resilience are seamlessly worked into all our activities helping players develop the confidence and belief in their ability to rise to any challenge, regardless of the outcome.
The MJ High Performance Tennis camps are held at Halton Tennis Centre, Buckinghamshire and have opportunities to access superb indoor and outdoor courts (acrylic and artificial clay), gym, conference room, extensive grounds and clubhouse. Camps are designed specifically for junior players already competing consistently at LTA Grade 4-Grade 1 events (as well as TE and ITF) and are the ideal preparation for tournament play across the junior age-groups 10&U-18&U.
Easter 2025
- Camp 1 - Friday 11th April, Camp 2 - Thursday 17th April
- One day non-residential camps
- 8am - 5pm

A typical 1-day Performance Camp day (timings not exact and subject to change):
8.00am-9.00am Physical preparation (S&C specialists)
9.00am-11.00am Tennis drills and practices
11.00-11.30 Power and speed session (S&C specialists)
11.30-12.00 Mental skills off-court (led by Mike James)
12.00-1.00pm LUNCH
1.00-1.45pm Physical preparation for the afternoon with emphasis on mobility and movement (S&C specialists)
1.45-4.15 pm Tennis drills, practices and match play
4.15pm-5.00pm Recovery session (off court)
*Appropriate time is built into the programme for fueling. Whilst lunch is provided, players are expected to bring snacks/energy drinks, change of tennis clothes including socks, 2-3 strung rackets, spare grips and sun protection.
Summer 2025
Over the summer holiday period the MJ High Performance Camps run over 3 days* and offer residential** opportunities over 2 nights in a tented 'athletes village' on site and Halton Tennis Centre. Due to the extended time available additional experiential learning activities are built into the programme. In 2023, high ropes, rock climbing and archery proved very popular. *It is not possible to book single days ** While residential is not compulsory the overnight stays represent a significant part of the camp experience, building of the 4 R's, camaraderie and teamwork and is therefore encouraged
